  • Renee Reidmiller

    Instructor

    A native of Fort Bend County, Renee is a Peak Pilates Full Comprehensive Instructor with a nutrition background. She holds certifications in Peak & Precision Nutrition. Before Pilates, Renee taught a variety of group fitness classes such as cycle, aqua, barbell strength, and coached clients in nutrition. Pilates became her passion after one session. She fell in love with the movement and how her body felt after each session. When Renee's not teaching she enjoys being outdoors - especially on her boat - and spending time with her family. Renee believes, "People are like snowflakes. Each one has their own unique distinction...We all have different mobility, and Pilates trains our bodies to make that mobility better than today it was yesterday."

  • Shawn Newbrough

    Instructor

    Shawn has been doing Pilates for almost 10 years and is originally from California. When she moved to Texas before the birth of her daughter she decided to make her passion a career. She is Peak Pilates comprehensive certified and has many specialized certifications including, pre/postnatal Pilates, Yoga on the Reformer, Hot Core Fusion, Pilates for the overweight/obese and is currently in the Club Pilates training. She says, "Pilates is for every 'body' and every person can benefit from it. It's an exercise you can do with the body you have now with whatever restriction you have. Not only does it help you stay in shape, but it can also transform your body." She loves being able to stay at home with her kids while sharing her passion of Pilates with her community.

  • Kristen Hattingh

    Kristen has been into personal fitness since 1988, spending a lot of time at the gym. After decades of the same routine, she began practicing Pilates in 2017 when Club Pilates Sugar Land opened. It quickly became a passion of hers. She is trained in Pilates mat and apparatus through Club Pilates. Prior to her Pilates practice, Kristen was a barre-method instructor at a local Sugar Land studio. It was through this experience that she really understood the significance of maintaining a neutral spine and keeping your core engaged as she witnessed a significant change in her own body. Kristen loves connecting with like-minded people eager to improve their overall lifestyle through Pilates. Although Kristen was born and raised in the Chicago area, she has lived in Texas for so long, she often says that she grew up in Houston. She lives in Sugar Land with her husband and son, when he’s not at school. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and watching her son play college baseball. In her spare time, Kristen volunteers at Child Advocates of Fort Bend.

  • Karen Gustafson

    Pilates is the perfect program for every “body”. Diagnosed with osteoarthritis in her 40’s, Karen found that Pilates is the best work out for her body. The resistance training and low impact flow keep her moving in all directions. Karen says, “I am blessed to be able to say Pilates is my second career and the learning never ends. I fell in love during my first reformer class and dreamed of teaching but never realized it could become a reality - never stop dreaming!” Karen received her certification through Club Pilates and mat certification through Peak Pilates.

  • Sydney Matiacio

    Sydney is a native Houstonian and loves being here with her family! She has 5 siblings, 2 fur babies and is expecting her first child soon with her fiancé. Sydney studied Hospitality Management at the University of North Texas and began her career as a hotel General Manager which lasted for several years. She started Pilates as a way to recover from long hours of sitting at a desk and walking. She also enjoys CrossFit and uses Pilates as a way to practice perfect movement and remain injury free. Sydney has always had a passion for creating positive experiences and making people feel great, so teaching what she loved seemed to be a fun and logical next step. She received her comprehensive Pilates certification through Peak Pilates in 2017 and has been teaching private lessons and group classes ever since. She is passionate about learning new techniques, methods, and variations of movement to help her clients recover from injuries and improve overall movement in their daily lives. When she isn’t practicing, Sydney loves spending time with her dogs, reading, and traveling with her fiancé.

  • Julie Biles

    Instructor

    Julie has been practicing Pilates since 2002 personally to improve posture and spinal mobility. She believes it pairs nicely with her Physical Therapy practice. Julie is from Orlando, FL and achieved her undergrad in Athletic Training and Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of North Florida. She has also been a certified strength and conditioning specialist since 2000. She has always had a passion for incorporating Pilates with her rehab program for clients. While living in Las Vegas, she was a director of Physical Therapy at a Pilates based rehab studio working with a range of cirque du soleil performers to elderly. Julie moved to the Houston area from Memphis, TN in 2011 with her husband and 2 daughters. She has enjoyed staying home to raise her girls (9 & 10 yrs. old) and now has the opportunity to share her passion of Pilates in the studio setting. Julie is comprehensively trained in Pilates mat and apparatuses through Club Pilates. Julie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering at her church, kids’ schools, and the Rockets Women’s Organization.

  • KK Turner

    Instructor

    KK is from Houston Texas and has been dancing since the age of 4. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Sam Houston State University in May 2018. This is where she found her passion for Pilates. KK went on to receive her Balanced Body teaching certification for Mat 1, and 2, as well as Reformer 1, and 2. She loves to share her love of Pilates by teaching and helping others reach their mind and body goals, she also teaches dance at various studios within the Houston area. KK loves Houston and plans to continue her professional dance career while incorporating Pilates to keep her body healthy.

  • Sammie Sappington

    Instructor

    Prior to coming to Houston in 2012, Sammie lived in Minnesota and Arkansas. While in Arkansas, she attended the University of Arkansas and earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and an M.S. in Counseling. Sammie discovered Pilates in 2018 and fell in love. She says, “I knew this is what I wanted to do: help people heal their bodies through Pilates. It is absolutely one of the best decisions I have made. Pilates has transformed me physically, mentally and spiritually. I love sharing this amazing movement system with others.” Sammie is certified through Peak Pilates. She has two children Chloe (2012) and Miles (2014) and loves cooking, traveling, yoga, Pilates and weight training.

  • Melanie Hampton

    Instructor

    Melanie came to Houston in the summer of 2018 from Salt Lake City, Utah. She is originally from Madison, Wisconsin, which is where she discovered Pilates and completed her teacher training. Melanie is a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Teacher. She has been teaching group classes and private clients in mat and apparatus Pilates for over 8 years. Melanie particularly values the rehabilitative techniques developed by Eve Gentry in her Pilates classes. She also has a special interest in Pilates for runners and cyclists. “I've been blessed to learn from Pilates masters and am passionate about bringing the Pilates method to all who want to learn.”

  • Laura Caldarera

    Instructor

    Laura is a native Houstonian who fell in love with Pilates as a teenager. Her father was the master carpenter for the Houston ballet and she grew up backstage at the theater where the ballet dancers were her first Pilates instructors. Laura has a comprehensive certification Peak Pilates.

  • Nicole van Amstel

    Instructor

    Nicole came across Pilates in sophomore year in college and found it to be the only thing that corrected a painful snapping hip issue. Various doctors, specialists, chiropractors and physiotherapists later, Pilates effectively eliminated the pain. This quickly became a passion and 10 years later it became a joy to share with others it’s ability to transform and rehabilitate the body. This Australian-Salvadoran native completed her Bachelor of Education with majors in History and Spanish from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2015. She then pursued a Pilates certification through Club Pilates. Nicole and her husband recently moved to Houston to be near her parents in Sugar Land. They share a love for travel and new experiences.
